20/20 Vision, Second Edition The Art of Contemporary University Printmaking |

Veronica Siehl The mark making I employ is an act of patience, of repetition, of anxiousness. My images consist of tiny marks. Textures compose, cover and occasionally obliterate figures. Miniscule marks create the whole. I am interested in predator and prey, in the
actions of cloaking and confronting that are implied by these
roles. I find labels of “primal v. tame” and “natural v.
unnatural” curious. I enjoy the moment when binaries become
confused, morphed, or crossed. Objects that cover the body can
serve to protect as they conceal. In them lies potential to
disguise, shield, camouflage or assimilate the wearer. Being and
becoming are merged.
