The Art of Contemporary University Printmaking

I don’t think that I could have asked for a better experience as a MFA student at The University of Kansas.  I was given fantastic opportunities ranging from working with and printing for visiting artists, teaching experience, an internship at Hui Press in Maui, and the chance to work in a great print facility. The printmaking professors at KU are wonderful and I found them to be encouraging and challenging.   I feel as if my work was able to grow on both a technical and conceptual level during my time as a student. Working Michael Krueger has had a great effect on how I work as a printmaker and as an artist.  He has been helpful and influential so many ways.  One of the most important things I have taken away from my experience as a student is an appreciation for the sense of community that is found in well-loved print shops.
