I've appropriated the title "Stolen Moments" from the Oliver Nelson jazz standard of the same name. Finding time (or "making" time) to create art or pursue personal pleasure seems to frequently involve "borrowing" the time from other seemingly more pressing commitments in life. This print contains a scattering of personal symbols and flotsam thrown together with my ongoing fascination for the dynamic between control and abandon. I like the medium of screenprinting because of its speed, flatness, and close resemblance to my favorite color medium, gouache.
